Cherokee Medical Center is a 60-bed acute care facility with 140 employees.   The hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations    with a medical staff of six primary care physicians and consultants.  Jeff Noblin serves as Administrator/CEO.
Cherokee Medical Center provides intensive care, laboratory services, inpatient and outpatient surgery as well as 24 hour emergency care seven days a week.

Cherokee County Health and Rehabilitation Center is a 185-bed skilled nursing facility, certified and licensed by Medicare, Medicaid, and the Alabama Department of Public Health. The Health and Rehabilitation Center is a non-profit facility, owned and operated by the Cherokee County Health Care Authority.  Dr Bryon Nelson serves as the facility’s medical director and Jerry Culberson serves as the administrator.
Twenty-four hour skilled nursing care is available, including wound care, pain management, hospice care, diabetic care and in-house mental health services.
The Alzheimer’s Unit is a 34 bed unit that provides care to residents with signs and symptoms of dementia and Alzheimer’s

 

Assisted Living and Specialty Care Unit


Cherokee Village is a 52-bed assisted living facility and specialty care assisted living facility.  It is a non-profit facility, owned and operated by the Cherokee County Health Care Authority.
Beginning in 1989 as an 8-bed facility, Cherokee Village was one of the first of its kind in the state.  The current facility was constructed in 1997, and underwent a major expansion in 2003.  Today, Cherokee Village provides a safe, caring environment for up Cherokee County citizens per day who require assistance with the activities of daily living.

The Cherokee County Home Health Agency has two RN’s, one LPN, two home health aides and a social worker on staff to provide home healthcare.

The Cherokee County Health Department is an excellent source of expert local medical attention for all ages.
The department not only gives vaccinations and immunizations, it provides blood pressure clinics,      diabetes clinics, chest X-ray clinics, prenatal clinics and family planning assistance. Among its other services are hearing, vision and dental testing of children and tubercular skin testing.
